Murshidabad’s Congress candidate dies of COVID-19 at Kolkata Hospital

Rezaul Haque alias Montu Biswas, the Congress candidate from the Samsherganj assembly constituency in Bengal’s Murshidabad district, died of COVID-19.


According to sources, after testing positive for COVID-19, he was initially admitted to a local private hospital on Wednesday but later referred to a medical facility in Kolkata when his condition deteriorated at night. He breathed his last, this morning. A shadow of mourning has descended over the area following his demise.

Ahead of the seventh phase Vidhan Sabha election in the Samserganj assembly on April 26, such an incident has created a gloomy atmosphere among the Congress workers.
