Siliguri, 25th August: A man, identified as Piyush Das, allegedly got misled after he came to finalize a business deal in Siliguri. He is reportedly a resident of the Murshidabad district.
According to sources, two men namely Apurba Ghosh and Joy Rasauli called Piyush, a few days ago after learning about his poultry trade. They wanted to do business with him and in the course of their conversation, presented a deal of supplying chickens to him at a very cheap rate i.e, 55 rupees per chicken, to which Das agreed. Following this, Das reached Fulbari on August 10 to finalize the deal.
Allegedly, Joy Rasauli and Apurba Ghosh took an advance of 89 thousand rupees from Das and asked him to visit a poultry farm in Phansidewa police station area. After paying the large sum of money in advance, Das drove to Ghoshpukur in Phansidewa police station area to get the chicken. However, after reaching the said area, he called both of them, but to his surprise, their mobiles were switched off. This made him realize that he had been deceived.
Following this, he approached the NJP police and lodged a complaint in this concern. Based on the complaint, the police launched an investigation and arrested the two.
The arrested accused individuals were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Tuesday.
