Siliguri, 04th May: As soon as the Model Code of Conduct was lifted, MP Raju Bista along with Matigara-Naxalbari MLA Anandmay Barman and Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh visited Matigara Block Primary Health Centre to oversee the ongoing COVID immunization programme and also to inquire about the well-being of the frontline COVID workers.
MP Raju Bista thanked all the healthcare workers for attending to the medical needs of the people to the best of their abilities despite the trying times. He sanctioned 7-ambulance with emergency lifesaving medical kits including oxygen apparatus for all the seven MLA constituencies under Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency – Kalimpong, Kurseong, Siliguri, Matigara-Naxalbari, Phanisdewa, Chopra, and Darjeeling from the MPLAD funds.
MP Bista informed that he will be donating 1 lakh masks and 2000 PPE kits to all government health facilities in the Darjeeling district region, which the elected MLAs, MLA candidates, party workers along with the alliance parties will help reach across the constituency.
“Our immediate concern is to reach vaccine to everyone and to help our region fight the COVID pandemic. I request all to maintain COVID protocols, wear masks, maintain social distancing and cooperate with the government and local authorities”, Bista added
