Siliguri, 17th June: A goods-laden truck overturned near Bholanath Para along the Eastern Bypass in Siliguri on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in a temporary disruption of electricity supply in the area.
According to local sources, the incident occurred when the truck was being manoeuvred into a warehouse. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn on the roadside.
Although no injuries were reported, the vehicle damaged overhead power lines after overturning. As a result, electricity supply in the locality was temporarily disrupted.
Upon receiving information, personnel from the Ashighar Traffic Guard reached the spot and took steps to manage the situation and regulate traffic movement in the area. Police from Ashighar Outpost also arrived at the scene and spoke with the warehouse authorities and the driver.
Meanwhile, officials from the electricity department reached the location and initiated repair work to restore the damaged power lines and normal electricity supply.
