Matigara, 28th June: Several areas of Matigara were inundated following continuous heavy rainfall that began on Saturday night, leaving localities such as Nirmal Nagar, Ravindra Pally and adjoining areas waterlogged.
Upon receiving information about the situation on Sunday morning, Matigara-Naxalbari MLA and Minister of State Anandamay Barman rushed to the affected areas to assess the extent of the flooding.
The minister visited the waterlogged localities, walking through waist-deep water to reach several affected houses and neighbourhoods. He interacted with residents, listened to their grievances and assured them that necessary measures would be taken to address the situation at the earliest.
The heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life in several parts of Matigara, with residents facing difficulties due to waterlogging.
