Siliguri, 10th June: Minister of State (MoS) Anandamay Barman has been allotted the portfolios of the Finance and Transport departments in the West Bengal government.
After taking charge, Anandamay Barman said efforts will be made to strengthen the transport system in the state. He stated that staff shortage in the department is a key issue and steps will be taken to address it.
He also highlighted plans to improve transport services in North Bengal, including restarting several long-discontinued bus routes. He added that initiatives are underway to introduce modern electric buses for better passenger convenience.
Local residents have expressed hope that the new responsibilities will help accelerate development work in the region.
