More doctors and nurses to be appointed in Siliguri to treat COVID-19 patients

Siliguri, 04th July: North Bengal COVID-19 OSD Dr. Susanta Roy, on Saturday, held a meeting at Siliguri Uttarkanya regarding the current COVID-19 situation in North Bengal.


North Bengal Development Minister Rabindranath Ghosh and other administrative officials were present during the meeting.

During a press conference on Saturday, Dr. Susanta Roy stated that surveillance is being kept in the entire North Bengal region and a meeting was held today to discuss ways to deal with the pandemic. 44 doctors and 22 nursing staff will be appointed in Siliguri to deal with the pandemic.


According to primary sources, these 44 doctors are likely to be selected from outer areas. On the other hand, 22 nurses will soon be recruited in the COVID hospitals to attend the COVID-19 patients.

Besides, Dr. Roy raised awareness regarding various issues among the people. He stated that since several asymptomatic COVID-19 cases have been reported so far, everyone must wear masks and maintain social distance. He also stated that leaflets will be distributed in various areas to raise awareness among the common people.
