Siliguri, 19th December: Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh has written to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw requesting the introduction of night train from Siliguri to Kolkata.
Siliguri, an important city in North Bengal, currently lacks a night train to Kolkata, another major city in the state. The last train departs at 8:40 p.m., which leaves many passengers stranded after 10 p.m. Those unable to board the last train have to either wait until the next day or hire private cars at high costs to travel to Kolkata.
In light of these challenges, MLA Shankar Ghosh has urged the Railway Minister to consider starting a night train service to connect Siliguri with Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal.
