Rajganj, 28th December: Today MLA Rajganj Khageswar Roy reached Bhandariganch to meet the families of the deceased who were found in an injured condition and later died during treatment at the hospital. He met the families of both the victims along with local leaders. During this, the MLA also assured both families of the deceased of proper investigation. The names of the deceased are Sahit Mohammad alias Rabiul Islam and Mukti Azam.
Reportedly, Sahit had a love affair with a teenager from Panikauri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj. Last Friday, Sahit had gone for a walk with the said girl. After visiting her, he went to a relative’s house for dinner with Mukti. After having dinner, both were returning home on a bike, then around 9 pm, both the youths were found seriously injured on the roadside near the Sukhani Gram Panchayat office. Both were admitted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital with the help of locals. Unfortunately, both succumbed to their injuries and died on Monday and the following day respectively.
However, the families of the two deceased youths refused to consider the incident an accident. The family has claimed that it was a planned murder to kill them. On the other hand, a written complaint has been filed on behalf of the victim’s family at Rajganj police station on Tuesday.
On the other hand, after meeting the victim’s family, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy said that he has spoken to both families. They have alleged that their son’s death was not a road accident but a planned murder. Khageswar further added that he has spoken to Rajganj police station and has urged for a proper inquiry into the incident. He added if someone is guilty then he should be punished severely.
