Siliguri, 01st January: Sensation prevailed in the area on the first day of the year, after a miscreant fled with a toto (e-rickshaw) after allegedly intoxicating the driver near Jesu Ashram adjacent to the flyover in Siliguri’s Matigara.
According to reports, an individual boarded driver Vishal Mahant’s toto as a passenger and allegedly offered him water adulterated with intoxicants. Consequently, Vishal fell unconscious and was allegedly abandoned on the road. Following this, the miscreant fled with the e-rickshaw.
Meanwhile, the locals rescued the driver and promptly informed the matter to Matigara police station. Based on the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and are currently on a hunt to nab the miscreant with the stolen toto.
