Naxalbari, 12th June: A miscreant identified as Mohammad Saufiq, a resident of Totaram Jote in Naxalbari, was arrested on Wednesday while roaming with a firearm near the Rathkhola railway gate area.
During the arrest, police recovered a pistol and two rounds of ammunition from his possession. Sources informed that Saufiq had previously threatened a woman from Totaram Jote at gunpoint and even fired a bullet, following which he had been absconding.
Additionally, he has a history of being arrested in connection with drug-related activities. On Thursday, he was produced before the Siliguri court for further legal proceedings.
