Kharibari, 09th June: A tragic accident claimed the life of a minor worker in Bazaru Jote near the Mechi River, adjacent to Panitanki in Kharibari. The victim, identified as Krishna Karua from Gaur Singh Jote, was crushed to death by the wheels of a sand-laden tractor.
According to reports, the minor was engaged in loading sand onto a tractor along with other workers. The incident occurred when he accidentally slipped while getting off the vehicle after loading, and was fatally run over by the tractor.
Following the incident, police and SSB personnel from the Panitanki Outpost promptly reached the scene. The police recovered the body and brought it to the station.
The deceased’s body has been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
