Chopra, 17th February: In a horrifying incident from Chopra, a 16-year-old minor was raped, poisoned and was left to die by her neighbour on Tuesday.
The shocking incident surfaced from Haptiagachh village of Chopra police station area in Uttar Dinajpur district. The victim is undergoing treatment at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Meanwhile, the accused youth is absconding since the incident.
According to the victim’s family sources, the 16-year-old minor was alone at home when the accused youth entered the house with a firearm. He allegedly raped the minor and tried to poison her to death. Upon receiving the news, the victim’s father rushed home and took the girl to a local health centre. She was referred to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.
The victim’s father has lodged a complaint at the Chopra police station. An investigation has been launched into the matter and the police are looking for the absconding accused.
