Minister Goutam Deb writes to CM regarding construction of a Bailey bridge to reduce traffic congestion

Siliguri, 11th January: Extreme traffic congestion at Siliguri’s Darjeeling More is hindering normal life. Although the demand to build a flyover was made several days ago, no response has been received from the central or state government so far.

Hence, State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb said that plans are afoot to build a Bailey bridge as an attempt to reduce traffic congestion at Darjeeling More. He stated that the matter has already been discussed with the PWD Minister. After conducting a survey, the work can be carried out only with the consent of the Public Works Department.

Deb stated that he has sent a letter to the Chief Minister regarding the construction of this Bailey Bridge and has also approached the District Magistrate.
