Minister Agnimitra Paul visits child home in Siliguri before returning to Kolkata, assures action on illegal homes

Siliguri, 09th June: West Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul concluded her North Bengal tour on Tuesday and returned to Kolkata after visiting a child home located in the Neemtala area under Matigara police station limits in Siliguri.

Before departing for Bagdogra Airport, the minister visited the child home and interacted with the girls residing there. She spent time speaking with them and took stock of their living conditions.

Agnimitra Paul stated that the girls staying in the home are like her own children. She said that several children expressed their desire to return to their families at the earliest, and assured that steps are being taken to facilitate their rehabilitation and return home.

She further said that efforts are underway to ensure the swift reintegration of children living in such homes with their families.

The minister also issued a warning, stating that no illegal child homes will be allowed to operate in the state without proper permission under the present government.
