Naxalbari, 11 January: The business committee under Naxalbari block Rani Danga Netaji Mini Market Vyavasayee Samiti marched on the roads protesting against the illegal roadside markets opened defying the covid protocols.
Reportedly, due to the pandemic, the police authority transferred the Randanga wholesale vegetable market to the Kalaram High School’s field. However, water-logging due to the rain caused problems for the sellers, after which the market was again transferred to the State highway.
Condemning the violation of Covid protocols, the Vyavasayee Samiti marched on the streets and staged a road blockade. As soon as the news was received, the Phansidewa Police and Naxalbari Police reached the spot. Later, BDO and the administration officials of Phansidewa and Naxalbari blocks also reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
