Memorandum submitted to Railway Officer seeking payment of temporary security personnel

Siliguri, 4th May: Members of the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) NJP branch submitted a memorandum to the Railway Officer demanding the pending payment of arrears of temporary security guards working in the Railway Electrification Department of NJP.

Reportedly, 7 security guards were temporarily appointed by the railway contractors last January. However, they were not provided with their deserved salary and the COVID period has added more to their financial problems. In regard to this, a protest was held by the INTTUC NJP branch, on Tuesday.

During the protest, they demanded the railway department to intervene regarding the situation. The convenor of the organization said that if the problem remains unresolved, then they will start a massive agitation.
