Mayor Goutam Deb inspects Ward No. 10 after receiving complaint about cleanliness during ‘Mayor Ke Bolo’ program

Siliguri, 01st November: After receiving a complaint during the ‘Mayor ke Bolo’ program, Mayor Goutam Deb himself took the initiative to take over the cleanliness drive in Siliguri’s Ward No. 10. Along with this, he expressed his displeasure with Boro’s role and work.

Apart from this, the Mayor took stock of the area and an abandoned place in the said ward and a multi-storey building under construction. During this, Ward Councilor Kamal Aggarwal, Mayor-Council Manik Dey and others were present.

Reportedly, a resident of the ward had complained about the unnecessary bushes on the side of Hillcart Road. Adding to the nuisance, accumulated garbage is making the area dirty and more prone to diseases like dengue. The complainant further added that even after raising the said matter multiple times, no cleanliness drive has been initiated so far.

In this regard, the Mayor said that a cleanliness campaign would be launched by the Municipal Corporation in the under-construction multi-storey building. At the same time, notice will also be given to the promoter. The Mayor has asked to complete the construction work of the said multi-storey building at the earliest.
