Siliguri, 21st October: Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Goutam Deb is taking stock of various river ghats of Siliguri ahead of Chhath Puja. Today, he along with the Municipal Corporation Engineer, councilors inspected various Chhath Ghats of Ward No. 04, 05 and 31 including the Lal Mohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat.
After taking stock of various rivers, the Mayor said that by launching proper inspections and measures ahead of festivals he hopes to keep the city safe and avoid any untoward tragedies like the Malbazar incident.
