Rajganj, 20th March: Matua Maha Mela is being organized on the occasion of Harichand Thakur’s 212th birth anniversary. The said three-day Maha Mela is being held in the Nathua area of the Baropatia zone under Jalpaiguri adjacent to Rajganj.
The Maha Mela began on Sunday with the bathing of Puranbaruni under the auspices of Purnabrahma Sri Sri Harichand Thakur. In this regard, the organizers said they organized the Maha Mela on the occasion of Sri Sri Harichand Thakur’s birth anniversary. The fair was inaugurated on Sunday. Apart from the puja ceremonies, the said Maha Mela will be held for three days with various celebrations. During this, the ideals of Harichand Thakur will be put before the common people.
Apart from the local residents, devotees from far and wide including Siliguri, and Jalpaiguri has reached the Mela. Offerings have been arranged for the devotees.
