Kalchini, 09th September: A person died due to drowning in the river while grazing the cow in the Nimti area of Kalchini block. The deceased has been identified as Kumar Chettri (56). Reportedly, on Thursday, Kumar Chettri had gone to graze his cow in the area adjacent to the Kaljani River. While returning home with his cow in the evening, he got washed away in the Kaljani River. Despite extensive searches, no trace of him was found.
After this, the villagers found his dead body in Kaljani River this morning. On receiving the news, Kalchini police reached the spot and recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem. Police have started the investigation of the whole matter.
