Man dies after being hit by train in Fuleswari

Siliguri, 28th February: Sensation transpired after a person identified as Uttam Das (48), a resident of Siliguri’s Ward No. 23 died after being hit by a train near Fuleswari. Uttam used to run a shop near Surya Nagar Maidan in Dabgram and is survived by a mother, father, wife and son. 


 

 


Reportedly, Uttam had gone to the market in the evening. He had a problem with one of his eyes. While crossing the railway gate at Fuleswari, he was seriously injured after being hit by a train. After this, he was rescued and taken to Siliguri District Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. 

 

The incident has cast a pall of gloom and mourning in the area. Shubham Das, the son of the deceased, said that his father was at home throughout the day. He went to Fuleswari market around 7 pm during which they came to know about his accident. Local councillor Laxmi Paul met the family on Tuesday morning and promised to stand by them.
