Siliguri, 29th March: A shocking incident has come to the fore in Siliguri’s Kholachand Fafri area after the undercover police of Bhakti Nagar police station arrested a man for growing cannabis inside his house. Huge amount of cannabis was being cultivated inside the house to run his drug trade.
Acting on a tip-off, the undercover police of Bhakti Nagar police station exposed the illicit business and arrested the accused, who has been identified as Shambhu Mandal.
It is to be noted that the said house was dauntlessly being used as a hemp factory for a long time. Packets of cannabis were being prepared inside the house and sold in the market. During the operation, the police recovered more than 3 kgs of cannabis from the house. Along with this, the cultivation of cannabis has also been destroyed. At present, the police are investigating further.
