Siliguri, 15th July: A man has been taken into custody following accusations of sexually assaulting his 16-year-old niece. The arrested individual has been identified as Pratap Khati. The incident came to light in the Gurung Basti area of Ward No. 03.
Reportedly, Pratap Khati engaged in inappropriate act with his minor niece on June 19, as disclosed by the victim to her family. In response, the minor’s father filed a written complaint against his brother at the Pradhan Nagar police station. However, upon registration of the complaint, the accused, Pratap Khati, fled from the scene. The police initiated a search operation and successfully apprehended the accused in the Gurung Basti area last night. Today, the accused was presented before the Siliguri court to face legal proceedings.
