Kharibari, 11th June: A man has been arrested in Kharibari for allegedly raping a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Jiban Krishna Roy.
According to allegations, the accused lured the girl with food and sexually assaulted her. The incident came to light after the child’s health deteriorated and family members learned about the alleged incident.
Based on a written complaint, police conducted an investigation into the matter and subsequently arrested the accused. He was produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court.
Police have registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act. Meanwhile, the minor’s family has demanded justice, and the girl has been sent to a medical college for medical examination.
