Malda man dies while traveling back home on a Shramik Special Train

Malda, 01st June: 50-year-old Budridhu Parihar, a migrant worker and a resident of Malda Harischandrapur No. 1 Block para area, lost his life while he was traveling back home in a Shramik Special train.


According to his family sources, Parihar used to work in a hotel in Bikaner, Rajasthan for the past 30 years. The incident took place on May 29 after he boarded a Shramik Special train from Rajasthan Lalkot railway station. The train reached Malda Town Station on Monday morning. Following which, the police recovered his body and sent it to the morgue of Malda Medical College-Hospital for an autopsy. 

Sarju Das, a relative of the deceased, stated that Parihar contracted tuberculosis several days ago and could not return home due to the lockdown imposed across the country. However, after the Shramik Special trains were arranged, they then boarded a train on May 29 to return home. Unfortunately, Parihar died near Mughalsarai railway station around 10 pm. 


Meanwhile, no proper information has been provided by the health department whether he was COVID-19 positive or not. As a result, an atmosphere of tension engulfed among the people who shared the same compartment with him.
