Siliguri, 30th June: Siliguri Women Police have taken a man into custody after he was accused of betraying his lover through false promises. The arrested individual has been identified as Shubham Roy, a resident of Ward No. 20 in Siliguri.
According to the complaint lodged at the Women Police Station by a 24-year-old woman residing in Siliguri’s Shiv Mandir area, Shubham engaged in physical relations with her on multiple occasions while deceitfully assuring her of marriage.
The alleged sequence of events dates back to 2020, when Shubham and the woman met at a local restaurant and gradually developed a friendship that blossomed into a romantic relationship. For two years, everything seemed to be going smoothly. However, on Thursday, the woman approached the Women Police Station under the jurisdiction of Siliguri Metropolitan Police to file a written complaint against Shubham. Consequently, he was apprehended by the authorities.
Following the registration of the complaint, the police initiated legal proceedings against Shubham based on the relevant sections cited in the complaint. Today, he was presented before the Siliguri Court. The police is conducting a thorough investigation into the entire incident.
