Locals demand immediate repair of dilapidated Mahananda Barrage Road in Fulbari

Fulbari, 04th August: The Mahananda Barrage Road in Fulbari has been in a dilapidated condition for a long time, with potholes making the situation worse. Local residents have been demanding the road’s repair, as it covers about 1.5 kilometers from Rajiv More to Fulbari Barrage under the Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat. The poor road condition has led to daily minor accidents, prompting urgent repairs.


A local Toto driver highlighted the road’s longstanding poor condition, causing numerous difficulties for commuters and passengers. He emphasized the need for immediate repair.

Devashish Pramanik, Jalpaiguri District Trinamool Congress General Secretary and Zilla Parishad member has also acknowledged the road’s bad condition. He had previously written to the North Bengal Development Department before the panchayat election, and the road’s measurement was taken by an engineer. He expressed hope that the tender for the road’s repair would be initiated within a month.
