Siliguri, 07th March: On the eve of Women’s Day, 19 prominent women of the society were felicitated under the initiative of the Lions Club of Siliguri Unity Wings and with the assistance of Dainik Jagran. The event was held on Sunday evening at the Banquet Hall of a restaurant in Siliguri’s Sevoke Road.
Munmun Sarkar, the first female e- Toto driver of Siliguri, was present as the chief guest at the programme. Under the initiative of Dainik Jagran and on behalf of the governor of Sikkim, Lions DG Abhijit Sen handed over a cheque of 50 thousand rupees to Sarkar to help her fulfill her goal of building a hospital for the needy people.
Abhijit Sen said that each and every day of the year is Women’s Day. He expressed utmost happiness for getting the opportunity to felicitate women on the eve of Women’s Day.
