Left councillors approach Siliguri’s Commissioner for helping Khudiram Colony’s fire-affected families

Siliguri, 21st November: On Saturday evening, a horrific fire incident in Siliguri’s Ward No. 18 gripped around 55 houses in its flames burning them down into ashes. This incident left many families homeless. Today, the CPI (M) councillors approached various municipal officials in the interest of the said fire-affected families and met Municipal Commissioner Sonam Wangdi Bhutia and presented their demands. 


Speaking in this regard, the Left councillor Nurul Islam demanded documents of the fire-affected families should be prepared at the earliest. The fire gutted almost 50 houses and all of their money, clothes, and important official documents including Aadhaar card, voter card, PAN cards, and school certificates of the students have been charred to ashes. He further demanded of construction of pucca houses for the victims with the financial assistance of the government.
