Siliguri, 16th March: The Ashighar outpost police, based on a tip-off, launched operations at the New Palpara area in Ward No. 38 and recovered a substantial amount of cough syrup and intoxicating tablets. A person identified as Subhas Poddar has been arrested in the incident.
As per the report, a man named Sanjeev Ghosh rented a godown owned by the arrested Subhas Poddar and was carrying out illicit trade of cough syrup and intoxicants for a long time.
Upon receiving the news, the police launched operations and arrested Poddar, while Sanjeev Ghosh is absconding. Police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
