Kurseong, 31st October: A fatal car crash in Kurseong’s Sepoy Dhura on NH 55 claimed the lives of 3 while 4 were injured. The vehicle reportedly lost control and fell into a ditch.
The deceased have been identified as Sabita Lepcha, Bina Rai and Saraswati Tamang. The injured include driver Suraj Chhetri, Celestina Lepcha, Aarush Lepcha, Sanyog Rai and Surekha Pradhan.
Reportedly, around 3:30 pm, a Spaceo vehicle heading from Siliguri met with an accident at Sepoy Dhura, an area a little above Kurseong. As per the information received, there were 7 passengers in the vehicle.
According to police sources, a vehicle carrying passengers from Siliguri was heading to Sonada today afternoon. The vehicle lost control and plunged in the gorge in the said area. As soon as the news was received, cops of Kurseong police station, disaster response team and fire brigade reached the spot.
The injured were rescued and admitted to Kurseong Sub Divisional Hospital. On the other hand, on getting information about the matter, senior officers of police administration including GTA Chief Executive Anit Thapa, Nuri Sherpa reached the hospital.
