Job recruitment scam update: Jalpaiguri court orders police remand of 6 days to the accused teacher 

Rajganj, 11th January: A teacher has been arrested for duping lakhs of rupees under the pretext of providing a job. On producing the accused in the Jalpaiguri court on Tuesday, the judge directed to keep the accused Santosh Barman under police remand for six days. 


 

 


It is to be noted that, Santosh Barman had allegedly duped Rs 17 lakh in the name of offering a job to Bappa Malakar, a resident of the Mathabhanga area of Cooch Behar district. It is also alleged that the accused had taken Rs 17 lakh from some other unemployed youths on the pretext of the same. After this, the promise was not fulfilled and later, when they asked for money, he refused to return. After this Bappa Malakar lodged a written complaint against the accused teacher at Ambari Out Post. Based on the complaint, the police arrested the teacher on Monday. On Tuesday, the accused was produced in the Jalpaiguri court. 

 

In this regard, the government representative lawyer Mrinmoy Banerjee said that the accused teacher Santosh Barman had taken Rs 17 lakh from a youth named Bappa Malakar in the name of providing a job. On producing the accused teacher in court, the court has directed to keep him on police remand for 6 days.
