JNU Sabarmati Hostel warden resigns one day after violence in the University

New Delhi, 06th January: A masked mob, allegedly belonging to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), entered the university premises and vandalized the hostel and cars and attacked the students and teachers of the JNU, injuring 35 including the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) President, Aishe Ghosh, on Sunday evening. The injured were discharged from AIIMS and Safdarjung hospitals after treatment. The JNU administration and many political leaders condemned the attack on the students and urged the Police to take action against the culprits.


A day after the violence in the university premises, the senior warden of Sabarmati Hostel in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), R Meena, resigned from his post. In his resignation letter, Meena stated that they tried but could not provide security to the hostel.
