Siliguri, 09th June: With the aim of ensuring that government benefits and schemes reach common people smoothly, the “Janata Desk” was inaugurated on Monday in Ward No. 04 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation by the Bangiya Hindu Mahamancha.
Organisational president Vikramaditya Mondal said the initiative has been launched to assist people facing difficulties in accessing various government welfare schemes. He added that the desk will particularly help resolve issues related to schemes such as the Annapurna Yojana and other public welfare programmes.
He further stated that similar desks will be set up in other wards of Siliguri in the coming days. Special focus will be given to slum areas under the municipal limits, where residents often face multiple challenges in accessing government services.
The organisation also plans to run the initiative regularly in these localities to ensure continuous support for citizens facing administrative hurdles.
