Siliguri, 05th July: Continuous downpour followed by waterlogging situation in several areas of Jalpaiguri is causing distress among the people. To take stock of the situation, Jalpaiguri’s Bharatiya Janata Party MP Dr. Jayanta Roy inspected the affected areas in Dabgram.
While addressing the media, the MP stated that the residents in the aforementioned area are facing a lot of difficulties and are troubled by the poor drainage system.
He alleged that before the polls, the Trinamool leaders had assured the people to build an embankment in the locality. However, no such initiative was taken on their behalf.
MP Roy further stated that BJP will stage larger demonstrations if the construction work is not initiated soon.
