Jalpaiguri man dies of Encephalitis amid COVID-19 pandemic

Jalpaiguri, 02nd June: Amid the coronavirus outbreak, a 48-year-old man Shekhar Sarkar from Jalpaiguri Pandapara, died of Encephalitis on Monday night. When a carcass of a pig was found near his house the next morning, an atmosphere of panic engulfed the entire area.


Sarkar, a resident of Pandapara in Jalpaiguri, was an employee of the Alipurduar Education Department and had been ill for the past 40 days. After undergoing treatment at North Bengal Medical College-Hospital for the past 15 days, he passed away late Monday night.
The locals accused the administration of not taking necessary steps despite being notified several time.
