Jaigaon resident Vikas Chhetri missing in Sikkim, family in distress

Alipurduar, 08th October: A resident of Jaigaon Khoklabasti Thapa Toll area of Alipurduar, Vikas Chhetri remained untraced following the Sikkim disaster. The incident left the family members in distress.


It has to be noted that the flash flood in Teesta River has marked a toll of destructions in Sikkim. Several households and vehicles were swept away by the water current. Also several individuals have lost their lives while many others are missing

According to the family, Vikas is a driver by profession who works in a private company. The family is in distress as no communication could be established with him. On Thursday, the owner of the company revealed over the phone that Vikas along with his vehicle was washed away in the River. Following this, no updates has been received.


Meanwhile, Sita Chhetri, the wife of Vikas, stated that he went to Sikkim by a truck from Siliguri on Tuesday, and spent the night there.This was the last time when they had contact with him.
