Naxalbari, 21st June: International Yoga Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Naxalbari on Sunday, in line with observances held across the state and the country. The programme was organized by Vivekananda Seva Bharati to mark the occasion.

During the event, speakers highlighted the importance and benefits of yoga, while participants actively took part in various yoga asanas and physical exercises. A large number of residents attended the programme, reflecting growing awareness and interest in maintaining a healthy lifestyle through yoga.

Addressing the gathering, Vivekananda Seva Bharati Secretary Prasenjit Biswas said that Maharshi Patanjali had gifted the invaluable practice of yoga to the world, and that it has now earned global recognition. He stressed that yoga should be practiced regularly rather than being confined to a single day of observance.

Biswas noted that consistent yoga practice promotes mental peace, physical well-being, and positive energy. He further stated that yoga encourages individuals to lead a healthy, balanced, and stress-free life.

The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to incorporating yoga into their daily routines for overall health and wellness.
