Indian Railways resumes operations of 200 passengers train services

Siliguri, 01st June: As India enters its first dah of Unlock 1.0, the railways are all set to start 200 trains operations from today. Out of them, the North East Frontier Railway is likely to run 6 trains namely Sealdah Alipurduar Padatik Express, Amritsar New Jalpaiguri Karmabhumi Express, Delhi Alipurduar Mahananda Express, Dibrugarh Brahmaputra Mail, Guwahati LTT Express and Guwahati Jorhat Jan Shatabdi Express.


In this context, the railway department has issued some instructions for the passengers i.e. all must wear masks and reach the station 90 minutes before the train departure. They should also carry food and water in their entire journey. As of now, passengers can board the train only with a confirmed ticket.

As per the report, huge crowds were spotted at the NJP station since Monday morning. Passengers maintained social distance and were thermally screened before being allowed to board the train. On the other hand, laborers from different districts of North Bengal reached NJP station on a Shramik Special train, this morning. Following which, the travelers were sent to their respective districts by NBSTC buses. Several Jalpaiguri workers also returned from different states today.
