Indian Air Force carries out Rescue and Search operations in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir, 16th January: Indian Air Force ALH Helicopters carried out a Search & Rescue Operation at Niraq in Zanskar valley (Ladakh) & rescued 71 trekkers in the last two days. The trekkers were on the famous ‘Chadar Trek’ when they were stranded due to sudden flood in the river.


The Indian Air Force launched the rescue operations at a short notice & successfully rescued 71 persons to Leh. Efforts to rescue the remaining people, which includes 9 French & Chinese nationals at Padum, are proceeding in spite of prevailing adverse weather conditions.
