Kalchini, 07th September: The Karam Puja, a harvest festival, was celebrated with great pomp and zeal in various tea garden areas of Kalchini block. The puja is dedicated to Karam Devta, the god of fate, power, youth, and youthfulness.
Like every year, this year also Karam Dali immersion was organized in the Dima river of Kalchini. A large crowd of devotees was seen offering their prayers. On the occasion, tribal dance was performed on the beats of Dhamsa Madal.
Likewise, Karam Dali immersion was also organized in Madhu tea garden of Kalchini block today morning. Various cultural programs were organized on the occasion in a river at Madhu Tea Garden. People of tribal communities were seen dancing to the rhythm of Dhamsa Madal.
