Illegal timber trade being carried out in Rajganj’s Kalingar Primary Health Center

Rajganj, 30th October: Questions are being raised regarding the role of the administration in view of the illegal trade of timber in Rajganj’s Kalingar Primary Health Center premises.

Due to the absence of a boundary wall, a wall was constructed a year ago. Despite this, illegal activities are being carried out.

Sushant Roy, a local panchayat member, said that the instructions to stop storing wood in the center premises were followed for some time. However, once again people have started the illegal trade of timber. Operations are likely to be carried out to get hold of them.

In this context, Rajganj Block Health Officer Dr. Shubhadeep Sarkar said that although the timber traders were restricted to conduct business in the hospital premises, some of them are not abiding by the ban. He assured to carry out more campaigns in the coming days.
