Phansidewa, 08th April: A ‘Yogdan Program’ was organised at Jalas-Nizamtara Trinamool Congress party office of Phansidewa where hundreds of workers left other parties including Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM), Congress, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Reportedly, on Monday, hundreds of workers extended support in the presence of the party’s District Chairman Alok Chakraborty, District Minority President Rafiqul Islam, District Vice-President Ainul Haque and Block President Akhtar Ali.

In this regard, Chairman Alok Chakraborty stated that the workers had joined the party in view of the efforts and development of Mamata Banerjee’s governance. He further claimed that there is nothing to fear under the CM’s presence. He added that just as TMC has captured both the Siliguri Municipal Corporation and Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, similarly the Darjeeling Lok Sabha seat would be won.
