GRPF officers in action after stone pelting on Vande Bharat, SP of GRP arrived in NJP station

Siliguri, 05th January: Vande Bharat Express was launched by PM Narendra Modi in West Bengal on December 30. However, within a few days, two incidents of stone-pelting have taken place on the country’s first semi-high-speed train.


Taking these incidents seriously, Railways has started an investigation. In regard to this, RPF and GRP have become active after the attack on Vande Bharat Express for two consecutive days. GRP is keeping a close watch before Vande Bharat reaches the station today. GRP’s SP SS Murugan was present in the station premises today. To strengthen the security system, Vande Bharat will now have 2 RPF officers, 7 constables, 1 GRP officer and 4 constables. 

According to RPF sources, the incident that took place on the 03rd of January is not from Bengal but from Bihar and belongs to Potia police station jurisdiction of Kishanganj district of Bihar. RPF with the help of local police has identified two people in the incident.
