Grand procession taken out in Cooch Behar thanking UNESCO

Cooch Behar, 01st September: UNESCO has declared Durga Puja, the festival of Bengal as a World Heritage Site. A special procession has been organized across the state today to express gratitude to UNESCO. In regard to receiving such an honour, a grand procession was held by the administration in Cooch Behar. 


The procession commenced from Jenkins School More and concluded in front of Bodo Devi Temple by circumambulating different areas of the city. Cooch Behar District Magistrate Pawan Kadian, District Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar, Rabindranath Ghosh, Mekhaliganj MLA Paresh Chandra Adhikari, Sitai Assembly Constituency MLA Jagdish Chandra Verma Basuniya, North Bengal State Transport Corporation Chairperson Partha Pratim Roy marked their presence in the procession.
