Gold biscuits worth 10 crores recovered in Bengal-Bihar border, three arrested

Kharibari, 09th November: 130 gold biscuits worth 10 crore rupees were recovered from the Chekamari at Bangla-Bihar border under Kharibari Police Station during an operation conducted jointly by Excise Department and Kharibari Police.


A small car has been detained in connection to the incident. The car driver, identified as Mohammad Afroz of Matigara Thumbajote, Shashikanta Sankapal, and Anil Gumadi, residents of Mumbai, have been held by the police.


Upon initial investigation, the police learned that each biscuit weighs around 165 grams. Reportedly, the arrested Shashikant and Anil arrived at the Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminus from Assam in a private bus this morning. Later, they took a small hired car to Kharibari and left for Araria in Bihar. The excise department and the police recovered gold biscuits from them while carrying out Naka checking at Chekamari.
