Gambling on pretext of fair in Siliguri, two arrested

Siliguri, 23rd July: The cops of Pradhan Nagar Police Station busted a gambling racket operational on the pretext of a fair in Siliguri. Following this, two accused identified as Santosh Saha (58) and Sanju Bhuiya (26) were arrested by the police.


Reportedly, a fair is being organized in the Samar Nagar area of Siliguri, in which, a gambling racket was allegedly operational under the safety of the fair. While, the outside showcased a fair, gambling activities were functional inside in a secret room.

Upon receiving the news, the police launched an operation, on Saturday night, and arrested the two accused on charges of running illegal gambling activities. Following the arrest, police also recovered an undisclosed amount of cash. Today, both the accused were produced before the Siliguri Court, while, further investigations are underway.
