Alipurduar, 18th December: A full-grown leopard loitering in the Ramjhora Tea Estate was successfully trapped in a cage installed by the forest department.
According to reports, the incident took place in section 14 of the Ramjhora Tea Estate located in the Madarihat-Birpara block of the Alipurduar district. Locals spotted the leopard in the cage earlier on Monday. Subsequently, the forest department was alerted. Forest personnel promptly arrived at the location and rescued the animal.
It is to be noted that the leopard was witnessed prowling in the tea garden for a prolonged time due to which the locals were terrified. Following this, the officials of the forest department installed the cage and successfully trapped the animal.
