Siliguri, 10th January: To commemorate the centenary anniversary of film pioneer Satyajit Ray, a film festival has been organized in Siliguri in his memory. The film festival is being organized by Dinabandhu Mancha and Mandali, Fact and Culture Department and will commence on January 12. Satyajit’s works like Sonar Kella, Jalsaghar, Jayababa Felunath, Pather Pachali, Pratidwandi, Aparajit, Apur Sansar, Mahanagar, Nayak, Heerak Rajar Desh, Parash Pather, Charulata, Gupi Gine Bagha Baine, Aranyer Dinratri films will be screened at 4pm and 7pm.
The said tickets to his movies are free of cost, and anyone can watch the said films, but tickets will only be available at Dinabandhu Mancha and Borough Offices. Admit cards will be available from there for free.
On the evening of January 12, there is an opening ceremony at Dinabandhu Mancha. Also, a procession will be taken out before the inauguration on 12th January.
